Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards 2024: All the Greater Manchester dining spots shortlisted

Shortlisted restaurants and takeaways have been unveiled for the annual Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA). Here in Greater Manchester, a number of restaurants and takeaways have made the final cut.

The prestigious celebration of Pan-Asian cuisine in the UK, will take place on Sunday, 6 October at London's Royal Lancaster. Hosted by Samantha Simmonds and Paul Martin, the coveted awards are in recognition of the UK’s best Asian cuisine across a series of regional and national categories.

Those behind the awards, say this year is all about rewarding 'excellence, craft, creativity and great taste' by bringing the UK’s most prestigious Asian restaurants and chefs together under one roof.

Nominees have been chosen based on nominations by customers from across the UK, including over 900,000 customers of ARTA’s strategic partner Chef Online, social media and food hygiene ratings, followed by a final judgement of a judging panel to crown each region’s best dining spots.

From the National Champion of the Champions, Regional Restaurant of the Year and National and Regional Chefs of the Year to National and Regional Takeaway of the Year and National Newcomer of The Year, the awards will spotlight over 1,250 restaurants and takeaways across the UK that were nominated by restaurant-goers and diners from all over the country.

The UK’s curry industry contribution accounts for a fifth of the restaurants in the UK and dates back to the 1800s. ARTA awards celebrate and recognise Britain’s vibrant Asian restaurants and takeaways and offer 'solidarity and morale' for the industry currently facing high energy costs, inflation,
