Arsenal vs Man City LIVE early team news and predictions ahead of Premier League fixture

Manchester City travel to Arsenal this evening knowing that a victory will send them top of the Premier League.

City ended a troublesome week both on and off the pitch well on Sunday, beating Aston Villa 3-1 at the Etihad. Pep Guardiola's side started brightly and were ahead inside five minutes when Rodri forced a header home, despite the best efforts of Emi Martinez.

The Blues had to wait until five minutes before the break to double their advantage. A mistake by Callum Chambers allowed Erling Haaland a chance to go through on goal.

He was forced wide but was able to flash a cross to Ilkay Gundogan who had an easy tap-in at the back stick. The match was over as a contest before the interval when, after some deliberation, Riyad Mahrez converted a penalty following a foul on Jack Grealish.

Ollie Watkins grabbed a consolation with half an hour remaining but the three points were never in doubt. The result, coupled with the Gunners' draw with Brentford on Saturday left City knowing that another victory will see them go top of the table on goal difference.

Erling Haaland is an injury doubt against Arsenal but did travel to London with the rest of the City squad on Wednesday morning.

Former Arsenal and City full-back Bacary Sagna has provided his thoughts on tonight's match.

The fans will support the team from the start all the way to the end because they know the importance of the game. There's more pressure on Arsenal than Manchester City because they are top of the league. Manchester
