Arsenal 'have no intention of selling' £90k-a-week star at the Emirates

Arsenal hold Gabriel Martinelli in high regard and have no intention of selling the highly-rated youngster, according to journalist Paul Brown.

The £90,000 per-week star has been one of the Gunners’ standout players this season, which has led to shock links with a move across London to Chelsea.

Having managed to bounce back from a long-term knee injury he suffered around two years ago, the exciting youngster has established himself as a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s side.

As a result, The Daily Mail have claimed that Chelsea are monitoring Martinelli’s progress following a bright start to the season.

This comes just weeks after 90min reported that Arsenal were ‘pushing hard’ to secure the Brazil international’s services on a long-term deal.

Martinelli arrived in north London from Ituano back in 2019, meaning he has less than two years remaining on his current terms.

Brown said the Emirates Stadium outfit already see Martinelli as one of the key players at the club and simply don’t want to lose him.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Arsenal regard him as one of the jewels in the crown.

“He’s got all the potential to go on and be a really great player and they have no intention of selling him, let alone to a rival.”

The 21-year-old might have made just eight league appearances, but he’s already well on his way to beating his best ever Premier League tally, which currently stands at six.
