Arnie won't rush Volpato into Roos squad

Socceroos coach Graham Arnold will not be naming teenage wunderkind Cristian Volpato for next month's World Cup qualifiers unless the Italian-based rising star is among his 23 best options.

Volpato scored his maiden Serie A goal for Roma last weekend, just three minutes after coming off the bench for the Italian giants in a 2-2 draw with Verona.

"I'm not one to just throw the kid on for one minute, just to cap him to say, 'oh OK, now he can't play for anyone else'."

Arnold said Volpato is yet to make an official decision on where his international future
