Queensland big wet forces ALM postponement
Forecast heavy rain in south-east Queensland has resulted in Friday's A-League Men match between Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory being postponed.
The Roar were set to host Victory at Redcliffe's Moreton Daily Stadium but league bosses made the call to call off the match Thursday morning, more than 24 hours before kick-off.
Bureau of Meteorology readings show almost 28mm of rain has fallen on Redcliffe in the past 24 hours, with more heavy falls forecast over coming days.
Large parts of Queensland are under severe weather warnings with another 300mm of rain expected across the state's south-east on Thursday.
The weather system is forecast to intensify over the next 24 hours with the bureau expecting damaging winds.
Several of the regions catchments are saturated, creating concerns about flash-flooding as well.
With Friday's game postponed, the two teams will now meet on Monday at AAMI Park in Melbourne in a rescheduled game from January which was postponed due to COVID-19 issues.
