Amad posts five-word message after controversial Erik ten Hag Man United decision

Manchester United forward Amad has reacted on social media after being controversially left on the bench for much of Thursday's 1-1 draw against Fenerbahce.

The Reds' draw in Istanbul extended their winless run in Europe this season to three matches. United have drawn against FC Twente and Porto so far in 2024/25 and have not won in any European competition since a 1-0 win over Copenhagen a year ago.

Christian Eriksen put Erik ten Hag's side 1-0 up at half-time before Youssef En-Nesyri equalised moments into the second half. Needing a goal to secure a much-needed win, Ten Hag opted to replace Marcus Rashford for Antony.

Ten Hag's decision to replace Rashford with the Brazilian left many United fans frustrated, with talented winger Amad again left on the bench. The 22-year-old did eventually come on, but only after Antony was forced off through injury.

And Amad has since reacted on social media after Thursday's stalemate in Turkey. "Fans, thanks for the support," he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Amad has struggled for game time in recent weeks for United. After impressing in the early stages of the season, Ten Hag has left him on the bench in United's previous two Premier League matches.

Many supporters will be hoping to see him given an opportunity to impress in Sunday's fixture away at West Ham (kick-off: 2pm). United have not won away from home since a 3-0 victory over Southampton on September 14 and remain 12th in the top-flight table after eight matches.
