All the key developments planned for Greater Manchester this week

Two boroughs are investing in ways to prevent and reduce homelessness in their areas with supported living complexes.

Both Rochdale and Oldham have submitted plans for flats that would act as places to support independent living for those who have become homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless. Over in Salford there is movement on a huge plan to redevelop the Soapworks next to the Quays.

This £200m plan would see 450 apartments and a gated community hub built.

There is also excitement just down the river from the Quays as a huge new ice rink is set to come to TraffordCity. It will be called TraffordCity Ice Arena and is expected to be one of the biggest venues of its kind in the country.

Here is a breakdown of each borough’s submitted planning applications this week
