All the key developments planned for Greater Manchester this week

A hotel expansion, shopping centre transformation and lots of new housing all form part of the planning applications submitted to councils this week.

The Village Hotel in Ashton is looking to expand with their plans for an extension connecting to the current site. This is one of three big applications due to be decided by the Tameside Council planning panel next week.

In Wigan an entertainment and street food attraction for up to 2,000 people has been tabled for the Grand Arcade and Oldham Coliseum are looking to give punters a taste of what is to come with their temporary dome-shaped structure planned for the Civic Centre car park.

Vicarage set to be demolished to make way for block of 18 flats

The vicarage of a historic Bolton church could be demolished to make way for a block of flats.

Plans have been lodged to knock down the redundant vicarage to St Chad’s Church, Tonge Fold Road, Bolton. The proposal would mean the demolition of the existing building and the construction of 18 apartments over two and three floors, with six car parking spaces.

New cemetery set for green belt land will use concrete burial tombs instead of wooden coffins

Plans have been put forward for a new cemetery on green belt land in Whitefield.

Green Fields MP Ltd have applied to construct the new burial ground for the Jewish community at Old Hall Lane, Whitefield, Bury, near the junction with Philips Park Road.
