All the key developments planned for Greater Manchester this week

A stadium development and a multi-million pound sports village development are the two biggest plans to be put before Greater Manchester councils this week.

The home of Bolton Wanderers could soon become the neighbour of a huge warehouse for the storage and distribution of paper products. Then in Partington their sports village could see a £18m upgrade if council have their way.

This money has come from Trafford Council's successful Levelling Up Funding bid.

Plans for massive warehouse development close to Bolton Wanderers stadium

Plans have been submitted for a massive new warehouse close to the Bolton Wanderers stadium.

The proposals would mean demolishing existing employment buildings on Mansell Way to create a single building with around 33,000 sqm of industrial floor space. The warehouse is currently occupied by Essity which stores and distributes paper products.

A second building currently on the site is currently unused.

Plans for food outlets and small businesses in shipping containers on fringe of retail park

Food and drink outlets and other small businesses could be housed within shipping containers on the fringe of a retail park.

The plans relate to an area of the King Street Retail Park, Farnworth, and would mean the installation of six prefabricated shipping containers at the site. A similar application for eight units at the same location was rejected by planners last year.
