Alejandro Garnacho's Argentina snub explained as Victor Lindelof makes Manchester United admission

Manchester United are currently in the midst of the final international break of the year but that has not stopped plenty from happening at Old Trafford.

On Wednesday, the Reds announced Richard Arnold had left his role as CEO. He has been replaced in the interim by Patrick Stewart with reports linking Jean-Claude Blanc with the role on a permanent basis.

Alejandro Garnacho wasn't called up to the Argentina squad because of his recent form, manager Lionel Scaloni has admitted.

The United starlet was a surprise omission from the Argentina squad ahead of the current international break. The young winger made his debut for his country in June.

Garnacho has gone on to earn three caps and was called up to the world champions' squad for the September and October breaks. However, he only managed to play six minutes across them both and has found himself out of the squad this time around.

Victor Lindelof believes Richard Arnold represented United well during his 16 years at the club, including his time as chief executive officer.

The defender is “sad” that the 52-year-old is to leave his role by the end of the year, but says he has done “very well” in his time at Old Trafford. Ratcliffe’s £1.3billion minority bid is expected to be ratified within the next fortnight and is tipped to conduct an audit at boardroom level.
