Kobbie Mainoo has something Rasmus Hojlund needs at Manchester United

Manchester United encountered more than one or two early-season woes. However, as they continue to emerge from that sticky patch, there are a few shining lights at the end of the Old Trafford tunnel.

Alejandro Garnacho wowed and silenced Goodison Park with a contender for goal of the decade let alone season, while the Argentina sensation followed that up with another strike against Galatasaray to underline his credentials as a starter. Rasmus Hojlund might have done that without yet opening his Premier League account.

And then there's the irresistible Kobbie Mainoo. United finally have a long-term solution to their well-documented midfield problems and he grew up just down the road in Stockport.

Regardless of short-term results - as important as they might be - the future looks bright for United and they have three golden talents in which to build a side around. However, as things stand, Mainoo has something that Hojlund in particular could benefit from in his own development.

United spent £72million on Hojlund this summer. With that price tag came added pressure, if only from the outside as match-goers fully understand the Dane must be given time to nurture his game.
