Albion Rrahmani leaves Rangers as transfer long shots but Rapid Bucharest supremo offers a glimmer of hope

Rapid Bucharest say they are "95 per cent" sure that Rangers target Albion Rrahmani will STAY with the club beyond the end of the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old forward, who netted 19 goals in 30 matches last season, is of interest to the the Light Blues, who are looking to bolster their attacking options after selling Sam Lammers to FC Twente. The Romanian outfit, who are managed by former Celtic legend Neil Lennon, are already three games into their new league season, and speculation around Rrahmani's future was ramped up after he missed last weekend's 1-0 loss to Petrolul with a reported injury.

The Kosovo international is on the radar of several clubs around Europe and Romanian outfit Rapid have already turned down a bid for their talisman from an unnamed club. Rapid's minority owner Victor Angelescu has now come out to state that the player will be available for Monday night's home clash with Sepsi and that they are extremely confident that the player is fully focused on helping Lennon's men recover from a disappointing start to the campaign, having drawn two and lost one of their first three matches.

Speaking to DigiSport, he said: "As far as I know, he is fit for the next game. It is correct that it was not the same Rrahmani, but I do not agree that he is only thinking about the transfer.

"We had a chat and he knows 95% he won't be leaving this summer. It's ok, he's at peace with the idea, I don't think he's thinking about leaving anymore."
