Albion Rovers boss discusses Scottish Cup draw hopes as he provides Joe Bevan injury update

Albion Rovers boss Sandy Clark has revealed striker Joe Bevan is set to miss Tuesday night's Lowland League clash through injury.

Bevan was absent from Rovers' 2-1 Scottish Cup second round win over St Andrews with an ankle injury, as his replacement Josh Tran set up both of their goals in the clash.

And it looks like the 19-year-old hitman won't be fit in time of a Halloween trip to Central Park.

Clark said: "Joe hurt his ankle at training on Friday.

"I don't think he will be available for Cowdenbeath on Tuesday, but I hope he is.

"We miss him in terms of his absolute quality in the team, his pace and his goal threat. He is a top player.

"If he is not okay for Tuesday I think he will be okay for Saturday. It's nothing serious.

"We have some important games coming up. We are going to have a right go at Cowdenbeath and try to get a win on Tuesday."

Rovers are safely in the hat for tonight's Scottish Cup third round draw, which will see Championship and League One clubs enter the competition.

Clark has his sights set on a money-spinning tie in round four, so hopes for a favourable draw that gives the Monklands men the best chance of progressing a stage further.

He said: "Like every club of our size, you are looking for a bit of a payout, if that is the best way to put it.

"You look to get a really big club at some point and we would need to get through to the fourth round to have any chance of that.

"We will cross our fingers and hope to get a tie that we can potentially win."
