Alan Brazil 'annoyed' by Celtic and Rangers fan lockout as derby losing something that makes it 'a little more special'

Alan Brazil has weighed in on the Celtic and Rangers away fan lockout insisting a travelling support make the game 'that little more special'.

Record Sport told last night how the Hoops informed the Light Blues that they will NOT be getting an allocation at Parkhead for the first derby showdown of the season on September 1 despite reaching an agreement last season to end the long-running standoff between the clubs. The men from Govan have since reciprocated for the January clash with the lockout now set to run into the new year. .

The champions were set to hand an allocation of up to 2,500 for the showdown in a couple of weeks - with similar numbers expected from across the city. But an apparent failure to implement required safety measures for the return meeting at Ibrox for the New Year battle has led to Celtic scrapping that arrangement. Hours later Rangers broke their silence and released a club statement on the news from Glasgow's east end insisting they will be reciprocating the ban, at least for the January derby - though it's believed Rangers are open to lifting it for derbies beyond that.
