Air ambulance lands with police on scene as man is seriously hurt
A man was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after falling from his bike in Stockport.
The incident happened on Stockport Road West in Bredbury at around 5.45pm yesterday (Tuesday). Multiple ambulance vehicles were sent to the scene, as an air ambulance also landed nearby.
A stretch of the road was taped off by police as emergency crews responded. The man - aged in his 50s - was taken to hospital from the scene in a serious condition.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said: "NWAS attended to a patient after reports they fell off a bike a on Stockport Road following a call at 17.42. A response vehicle, advanced paramedic, ambulance crew and air ambulance all went to the scene.
"A man approximately in his 50s was taken to hospital in serious condition." A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers supported paramedics at the scene and put a cordon in place on the road.
A tweet posted by Transport for Greater Manchester at around 6.15pm yesterday said: "B6104 Stockport Road West, Bredbury. Road closed at its junction with A560 Ashton Road.
"Emergency services are at scene dealing with a collision. @StagecoachGM services are on diversion. Re-route to avoid delays."
The road was reopened by around 7pm.
