Two arrested after 'violent' brawl breaks out - with police searching for third

Two men have been arrested after a fight broke out in Tameside on Saturday morning.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance on Latchford Street, Ashton, at around 11am on May 6. It is understood thata group of men were fighting. No serious injuries were reported.

Officers arrested one man for threats to kill and possession of class B drugs, and another for affray and criminal damage.

Police are looking to locate a third man, who is also wanted in connection with this incident.

Inspector Timothy Rudd of the Tameside District said: "This was a violent but isolated incident and we don't believe that there is a wider risk to the community.

"If anyone in the Ashton area witnessed this incident or knows anything regarding the whereabouts this man, we ask that you contact us on 0161 856 9328 or 101, quoting log number 1308 of 6th May 2023.

"Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity - Crimestoppers - or via the Live Chat function on our website www.gmp.police.uk".
