Air ambulance lands after child, 3, is hit by car

There was a large emergency service response in Bolton this afternoon after a toddler was hit by a car. It happened on Rishton Lane in Great Lever shortly before 3pm.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said a car collided with a three-year-old child. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene with the road being cordoned off.

The child, whose gender has not been disclosed, was eventually taken to hospital by road. However, a spokesperson for the force said their injuries are not serious.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said an ambulance response vehicle and helicopter were called to the scene following a 'road traffic collision involving a pedestrian.'

A child was taken to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital they added.

The cordon is said to have been lifted at around 5:30pm this evening.
