Adult-only circus with 'risqué' strip routines and stunts coming to Wigan

An circus for 'grown-ups' promising risqué live entertainment, stunts and stripteases is heading to Wigan. After sell-out tours including a stop off in Manchester and appearance at Glastonbury, the X-rated Cirque du Vulgar will be back in the north west this June.

Previous iterations of the show, which has sold out across the UK have included fire-breathing pyromaniacs, nail-biting acrobatics, a fearsome Dominatrix, and everything else you would expect on a slightly unconventional circus. Not one for the easily offended, the show also features death-defying stunts, rude jokes and a fair bit of nudity.

The over-18s show returns to the north on June 1 with a show at Wigan's DW Stadium, after stopping off in Bury on Friday, 28 April. Tickets for the jaw-dropping show start from £20 and go up to £70 for VIP seats with a ringside view.

Taking place under the big top, the circus is an offshoot of the family-friendly Circus Funtasia, and has gained a reputation for both shocking and impressing crowds. The troupe of performers come from across Europe with some who literally ran away from the circus.

As well as comedy duos, burlesque-inspired dancers and a scantily clad performer defying heights over a full-sized bathtub, previous shows have also included 'the wheel of death', a spinning metal contraption that stretches to the top of the tent and sees performers leap harness free between the cages.

Billed as a the 'country's filthiest comedy' mixed with 'delicious, daredevil circus acts' designed to 'amaze' and 'arouse' audiences, it prides itself on being the 'hottest' show in town, winning rave reviews over the last few years.
