Adam Thomas forced to miss Strictly Come Dancing training as he says 'it's worth it'

Adam Thomas has revealed that he has been forced to miss his latest training session for Strictly Come Dancing - but admitted it's 'worth it'. The actor couldn't hide his smile after he opened the 2023 run of the BBC One dance contest last Saturday night.

Adam, who is known for playing Donte Charles in Waterloo Road, and his professional dance partner Luba Mushtuk delivered a lively cha cha for their first Strictly performance. Backdropped by a waffle house staging, the actor grooved with his partner to Waffle House by the Jonas Brothers to secure a score of 19 from the judges.

Afterward, Adam admitted he had been nervous all week, but described his Strictly debut as "the best feeling ever". Getting his comments, head judge Shirley Ballas praised his "beautiful personality" and “fantastic co-ordination”, while advising him to tighten up his footwork and work on his rhythm while Craig Revel Horwood thought the routine was "a little bit sloppy all over", but said his hip action was there.

He has since been hard at work with Luba on their next routine which they will perform on Saturday night (September 30) before the first elimination of the series. They'll be performing an intense Tango to Maneskin track 'Somebody Told Me' but it appears their rehersals have been distrupted.

Adam has already previously shared how he's got a busy schedule on his hands due to taking part in Strictly and filming for Waterloo Road, the BBC One school-based drama which returned to screens earlier this year after being rebooted. And taking to Instagram on
