Aberdeen players told to 'show some b******s' as Neil Warnock's side face relegation scrap

Angus MacDonald has told his Aberdeen pals they must 'show some fight and show some b******s'.

The Dons' poor run of form under interim boss Neil Warnock hit another low on Wednesday night under the lights at Pittodrie as St Johnstone dumped the Reds 2-0 in front of their own fans to drag them further into the relegation battle. The defeat made it nine without victory in the top flight with the new boss not picking up a win in five since replacing Barry Robson until the summer.

Ross County are now within FOUR points of Aberdeen in the relegation play-off spot with the Dons now looking over their shoulders as they bid to get a much-needed result on the board this coming weekend. Fans voiced their anger and now they must get three points and bring an end to that horror run of results against St Mirren on Saturday. Speaking to Red TV, MacDonald admitted: "It's a tough one to take. Results of late haven't been great. Confidence is probably low."

He added: "We just need to get back to basics. Get back to basics and start keeping clean sheets. I know it's hard. I know it's not for a lack of trying."

Discussing the mood in the camp, he explained: "Things just aren't going our way at the moment. But we've got to stick in there, we've got to show some fight and show a bit of b******s and go again on Saturday and hopefully get three points.

"We can't look behind us, we have to look ahead of us and ahead of us is Saturday and all we can do is focus on getting three points. We have got to roll our sleeves up. We've all got to stick in it together, each and every one of us, the subs included, the lads behind the scenes who aren't getting a game. We've all got to stick in it together.
