Sittingbourne sealed their Isthmian South East play-off place with a home win over VCD Athletic in the Vickers’ last-ever match on Saturday.

Requiring a point to seal a top-five finish, goals from top scorer Derek Asamoah and defender Ben Swift put them into a half-time lead.

The Brickies then turned on the style after the restart as Harvey Smith, Jack Steventon and Darren Foxley found the target as it finished 5-0 at Woodstock.

It means Sittingbourne will travel to second-placed AFC Croydon Athletic for Tuesday night’s semi-final, with the winner progressing to face Jersey Bulls or AFC Whyteleafe in the play-off final on Friday evening.

The Vickers had created the first chance when teenage keeper Rex Porter got in behind a long-range drive by Cameron Andrews in the 11th minute.

Five minutes later, away defender Harry Lawrence was in the right place to make a goal-line clearance as centre-back Swift met a corner at the back post.
