Aberdeen FC told Bojan Miovski January transfer simply CAN’T happen as team-mate makes pitch

Leighton Clarkson knows it is vital Aberdeen fend off interest in Bojan Miovski when the transfer window reopens.

The on-form Macedonian has been the go-to-guy for the Dons in the first part of the season with an impressive 14 goals. The striker is just four behind his haul for last season and Clarkson knows there will be strong interest in his goal-hungry teammate. But he believes it is imperative Aberdeen keep him in their charge to get back into third place and Europe.

Clarkson stated: “It is very important. He has pulled us out of a lot of games this year and he is a top quality striker. I would love him to stay and I know the rest of the team and the fans do as well. Yes, definitely. In terms of the numbers he has so far – 14 goals – is very good and we have not been playing at our best as well.

“He scores lots of goals and I have a good connection on the pitch in terms of his movement. His movement is excellent. So he has done really well and we just want him to keep improving.”

Miovski will be the main threat for the Dons when they entertain Motherwell on Wednesday. The Dons have won back-to-back Premiership wins against Livingston and Hearts and will be looking to make it a home hat-trick and to keep climbing the league.

The former Liverpool youngster said: “It is another home game and it is one we are looking to get all three points. It is not where we want to be but in this league if you get three, four wins on the bounce it can shoot you right up there.

“Yes, it has. The schedule has been tough but it is where Aberdeen players and fans want to be. It is something we have to get used to. After Christmas we will have a little break and that’s when we can really start motoring.
