Who is Mateo Mejia? Manchester United youngster linked with January transfer to LaLiga giants
Manchester United forward Mateo Mejia is reportedly nearing a move to Sevilla.
The Colombia U20 international signed a new contract with United in June and was briefly involved in pre-season as part of the youthful squad that faced Wrexham in San Diego. Despite his limited first-team involvement, the attacker has excelled for the club’s Under-21s side this term, with three goals and five assists in nine Premier League 2 games.
The 20-year-old's form for United’s academy side has seemingly attracted interest from elsewhere, with journalist Fabrizio Romano claiming that seven-time Europa League winners Sevilla have agreed a deal to sign Mejia on a permanent basis. It is stated that United will retain a 25 per cent sell-on clause as the forward prepares to join the seven-time Europa League winners.
