Abdallah Sima tells frustrated Rangers fans 'we hear you' as he promises Livingston rout a sign of things to come

Abdallah Sima has promised the Rangers support there’s plenty more to come from him after sending Michael Beale’s men on the road to Hampden on Wednesday night.

The Senegalese striker notched his fourth goal in just seven starts as the 4-0 win over Livingston set up a semi final showdown with Hearts in November. And the 22-year-old Brighton loanee insisted he KNEW that coming to Rangers would get his career on track after frustrating spells at Stoke City and Angers in France.

He said: “I’m very happy to score goals and to be playing here at Ibrox is very, very special. When I joined here I expected to be playing games and scoring goals. I have had some bad seasons but this team is a very good team with good players and I am happy to be here.

“It is easier when you play with a big team because I get more chances and I am happy to be scoring some of them. I hope I can keep pushing to get more. With this team and the quality it has in it, it’s going to be easier for a striker to score goals. That’s why I joined this club. We are happy now, after the Livingston game, and we just have to keep working hard and keep going.”

Sima admitted Rangers were under pressure to perform in midweek after being booed off the pitch despite winning against Motherwell on Sunday. The striker insisted he had no issue with that.

He added: “We understand the fans. They want to see good football and they want to enjoy the games. So we accept that.

"They are special for us. They are always there for us, so we do have this pressure to do well for them. They will have been happy with our performance on Wednesday night, so we have to enjoy this.”
