Abdallah Sima 'close' to Rangers transfer as Michael Beale 'confident' Brighton winger can find £7m move form

Abdallah Sima could be a Rangers player 'as early as next week' as Michael Beale moves in on signing number five on a loan deal from Brighton.

The Senegalese international earned a £7m move to the ambitious Premier League club in 2021 after form in the Czech Republic with Slavia Prague, where he impressed Ibrox boss Beale in a Europa League meeting between the pair. The Czechs knocked out both Leicester and Rangers on their run to the quarter-finals that season and it prompted Brighton to make a splash of £7m.

A loan move to Stoke City has been blighted by injury and last season, Sima was relegated from Ligue 1 with Angers. Roberto De Zerbi has sanctioned another loan for the player who has yet to make an appearance for the Seagulls. And the Daily Mail claim 'Rangers are close to signing Brighton forward Abdallah Sima on a season-long loan deal.'

It's also stated the Light Blues are the 'front-runners to take him on, with Beale confident Sima can recover his best form in Glasgow.' The report goes on to claim it could all be sorted by next weekend as pre-season looms.
