Robby McCrorie set for Rangers transfer exit as 'realistic' valuation revealed after showdown Michael Beale meeting

Michael Beale is set to lose Robby McCrorie this summer as the Rangers goalkeeper seeks regular football.

The stopper regularly called into Scotland squads of late got a run of games to prove himself at the end of last season. But Jack Butland's arrival between the sticks will likely have him playing deputy again. McCrorie signed a new contract last term too but will turn 26 in the next campaign and needs to be playing regularly.

According to the Scottish Sun, 'Michael Beale has held last-ditch talks with Robby McCrorie over his Ibrox future but the Rangers boss is now resigned to losing the 25-year-old this summer.' The goalie 'made his position clear during the amicable meeting' and his current boss is fully understanding of his desire to try and become a number one in his own right. He is no longer willing to play back-up with the former England international set to start this term as first-choice.

His current contract expires in 2025 and 'is hoping Rangers don’t price him out the market.' The report goes on to claim 'The Ibrox club could demand a fee of £1 million - but a figure of £500,000 is more realistic.'

A source said: “The manager tried to persuade Robby to stay and push for the jersey and, although disappointed with the outcome, Michael understands and accepts Robby’s reasons. After a long and amicable chat both parties agreed that they must move on and a parting of the ways is the only way forward for McCrorie.”
