Aaron Ramsey to thrive in Rangers 'natural habitat' as Juventus icon Fabrizio Ravanelli senses perfect fit

Former Juventus star Fabrizio Ravanelli is convinced Rangers is the right club for Aaron Ramsey to rediscover his best form.

The Welshman secured a box-office deadline day loan to Ibrox, after an injury-ravaged season left him surplus to requirements with the Old Lady.

And Ravanelli has thrown his weight behind Ramsey as he gears up to make his Rangers debut against Hearts on Sunday.

The former Dundee star concedes the change in style from English Premier League to Serie A was an ill-fit for an all-action midfielder.

His two-and-a-half years in Turin didn't go to plan but the White Feather believes Ibrox will prove a home for the ex-Arsenal star.

Speaking to the Sunday Post, Ravanelli said: “In addition to his injuries, he certainly did not weigh up the fact that Serie A is very different from the English Premier League.

“It is much more tactical than he was used to. The game here is not very fast and physical, like you find in England and Scotland.

“To be fair, I think to adapt quickly you need to have a good run of games in the team.

“Aaron did not get that opportunity, and I believe it slowed him down.”

"The return to play in Great Britain can be a good chance for him.

“Having played in England for so many years, Ramsey won’t need time to get used to playing in Scotland. The Scottish Premiership is not exactly the same as the English Premier, but it does have characteristics in common.

“So I hope that Ramsey will find his natural habitat at the Glasgow Rangers, and that he will go back to being the player he was – a man who makes a difference on the football pitch.”
