A57 closed between M67 and Mottram Moor after 'serious' collision involving lorry and car - latest updates

The A57 is closed in both directions between the M67 Junction 4 and the B6174 (Mottram) this morning (Sunday March 19) as a result of a 'serious' collision involving a lorry and a car.

Greater Manchester Police are in attendance. Traffic is being diverted via local roads by emergency services at the scene.

Delays are likely on approach to the closure and diversion routes.

Roads and traffic monitoring service Inrix reported the incident at 2.35am. An update at 3.05am said: "A57 Mottram Moor in both directions closed due to serious accident, a lorry and a car involved from M67 (Broadbottom / Mottram) to A6018 Back Moor."

At 3.04am, National Highways: North-West tweeted: "The #A57 is closed in both directions between the #M67 J4 and the B6174 #Mottram due to a collision."
