Manchester United vs Brentford LIVE Premier League updates, TV channel information and Martial latest

Manchester United must respond against Brentford at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

United returned from the international break with a 2-0 defeat against Newcastle at St. James' Park, but the scoreline arguably flattered the terrible performance, which Erik ten Hag put down to the opposition being 'more determined'.

The Reds failed to threaten Newcastle throughout that contest and they need to bounce back against Brentford, who won the reverse fixture 4-0 in August after ruthlessly putting Ten Hag's side to the sword in the first half.

A positive result against Brentford is also required because the 'top four race' has suddenly been blown open. United looked almost certain to finish in third position this season, but they've now slipped down to fifth in the table.

In regards to team news, Christian Eriksen has returned to training this week but this game has come too soon for him, although Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be available for selection after recovering from a bout of sickness.

Christian Eriksen returned to United squad training yesterday after two months out with an ankle injury.

Eriksen was fouled by Reading striker Andy Carroll in United's FA Cup fourth round win on January 28 and has missed their last 15 games.

Eriksen revealed two weeks ago he had returned to outdoor training and although he will not be available against former club Brentford on Wednesday evening, manager Erik ten Hag confirmed Eriksen is nearing his return.
