A karaoke night dedicated to hip hop is coming to Manchester where you can fulfil your rapper fantasies

Music fans longing to sing their favourite Drake or Kendrick Lamar songs in front of crowds of people are set to have their dreams come true as a new hip hop karaoke night launches in Manchester.

Taking place at Chinese and East Asian food hall Hello Oriental on October 1, Hip Hop Karaoke will have hundreds of old school and modern gems ready for people to rap their hearts out to, alongside R&B anthems from the likes of Usher and Destiny's Child.

Originated in London by DJ Rob Pursey in 2001, it will mark the first time the event has come to Manchester and is being held to mark the 50th anniversary of hip hop. Hosted by Bobby Champagne Jr, the event will feature classic hits from the 80s, 90s as well as the latest songs making it viral.

A line-up of Manchester faces from the hip hop and music scene are also expected to attend the launch event, which will run from 4pm till 11pm.

“I’ve been dying to bring the event to Manchester,” founder Rob said. “The city has an exceptional reputation when it comes to having a party. The Hip Hop Karaoke team have got so many friends and connections in the city, we can’t wait to see that Manchester energy coming through!”

Located just off Oxford Road, Hello Oriental comprises a restaurant, bar, café, events space and a fully stocked supermarket. First opened last year, the £2.5m venue comprises of three floors on the 'Symphony Park' development on Circle Square.

Tickets for Hip Hop Karaoke are now on sale - starting at £8. Food and drink can be bought separately on the day.
