Manchester United youngsters compare Dan Gore to Lionel Messi after stunning solo goal
Manchester United youngsters Rhys Bennett and Sam Murray lauded teammate Dan Gore after he scored a brilliant solo goal in the Under-21s' 5-2 win over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
The Under-21s posted their second Premier League 2 win of the campaign with a rampant performance at Leyland. After heading into the half-time interval with the scores level at 2-2, Gore took it upon himself to restore United's advantage with 68 minutes on the clock.
That marked a flurry of goals from Travis Binnion's side, who scored three times in the space of just 11 minutes to secure all three points. Omari Forson added a fourth before Joe Hugill completed the rout by adding a fifth with just 11 minutes of normal time left.

The highlight of the contest, however, was Gore's 68th-minute strike to put the Reds 3-2 ahead. After picking up the ball inside the centre circle - just inside the Blackburn half - the youngster, who made his first-team debut in last Tuesday's 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Crystal Palace, evaded a couple of challenges, showed quick feet and powered a brilliant left-footed effort into the back of the net.
It was a terrific run and finish from the 19-year-old, who impressed during the Reds' pre-season campaign. It was a Goal of the Season contender and further evidence as to why he is so highly rated by those in and around Old Trafford.
As a result, Gore was lauded by several United supporters after video footage of the goal made its way onto social media. Gore then posted a video of the goal on his Instagram page, prompting a wave of responses and plaudits.
