8 Celtic AGM takeaways as Rangers jibes fly from top table and Green Brigade divide the support in fiery showdown

There were moments of applause and statements of anger but Celtic's AGM left few stones unturned when it came to business at the Premiership giants.

Heading into the yearly event at Parkhead, there was the banning of the Green Brigade, player trading and director wages all up for debate inside the Kerrydale Suite. Over the course of just under two hours, chairman Peter Lawwell, flanked by manager Brendan Rodgers and chief executive Michael Nicholson plus other senior Celtic figures, answered the questions and concerns of their shareholders.

After a rousing set of financials showed the Hoops have plenty cash in the bank, that only prompted more questions for a board who have overseen a period of unprecedented domestic success. Lawwell's cry was for Celtic to become a world-class football club and while support for the once bemoaned Rodgers has returned, fingers continue to be pointed at a hierarchy who have had their fair share of critics.

It was arguably the biggest talking point from the AGM if boiling things down to what was asked about the most. And between this and the Green Brigade's ban, this probably edges it, albeit with slightly less anger. But with every measured answer Rodgers in particular gave, it became clear Celtic were not going to be shifting from their trading model anytime soon.
