6 ft 3 Newcastle star 'might have to move on' this summer

Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka might have to move on this summer, claims journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 33-year-old is currently Eddie Howe’s No.1; however, the Magpies continue to be linked with a host of other shot-stoppers.

According to a report from the Daily Star last month, Newcastle are keen on adding Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga to their squad in the next transfer window.

It is unlikely to be a cheap deal, though, with the same outlet stating that the European champions are looking for around £50m for the Spaniard they paid £71m for back in 2018.

As well as Kepa, Manchester United No.2 Dean Henderson is another goalkeeper thought to be on the Tyneside club’s radar.

As per the MailOnline, they are already working on a deal to sign the 25-year-old, while Arsenal’s Bernd Leno and West Brom’s Sam Johnstone, who will be a free agent this summer, are also under consideration.

With Newcastle likely to sign a new No.1 before the start of next season, O’Rourke believes 6 ft 3 Dubravka could be heading for the exit door.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the transfer insider said: “It’s obviously an area they want to improve on so, with that in mind, you’d be thinking that Dubravka might have to move on.”

Dubravka, who has played 18 times under Howe in the current campaign, will not want to be the understudy at St James’ Park. All things considered, he is probably too good for that.
