Tottenham: 'Scary to think' of Spurs being without 68-cap star

Tottenham without talisman Harry Kane is “scary” to think about, says Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

The 28-year-old, who has really impressed in recent weeks, is currently being linked with Premier League rivals Manchester United.

According to The Athletic, United are interested in signing Kane this summer as they look to bring in a new striker.

It remains to be seen who their next manager will be, but the same report states that they want the England captain regardless of who Ralf Rangnick’s successor is.

Kane was in devastating form before the international break, grabbing two assists in the London derby win over West Ham after going on a run that had seen him score against Brighton, Manchester United, Everton and Leeds United.

He will now be looking to add to that when Antonio Conte’s men return to action in the home tie versus Newcastle United.

Bridge does not want to imagine what a Tottenham side without Kane would look like as he continues to be linked with a move away from the club.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the Sky Sports journalist said: “It’s still, for me, scary to think of Tottenham without Harry Kane.”

Like last summer when United’s rivals Manchester City came knocking, you would expect Daniel Levy to put up a real fight to keep hold of the club’s star player.

However, it looks like Spurs are drawing up contingency plans just in case the 68-cap England international does end up departing.

The Athletic claims super-agent Jorge Mendes has a good relationship with Levy and has held talks over Benfica’s Darwin Nunez and Roma’s Tammy Abraham.
