2 West Brom players who didn’t leave in January but could do in the summer
Several players may be given a new lease of life at The Hawthorns following the appointment of Steve Bruce last week, who signed an 18-month deal to take over from predecessor Valerien Ismael.
The 61-year-old will be expected to guide the Baggies back to the Premier League at the first time of asking considering the calibre of players he has at his disposal, although it remains to be seen whether he has the necessary depth in some areas to thrive.
Ismael’s 3-4-3 system meant the Frenchman could survive without a high number of central midfielders in the squad – but that could cause problems for Bruce who is likely to change Albion’s system in a bid to turn around their fortunes.
This lack of depth in midfield may be bad news for the second-tier side’s new manager – but it may prove to be the turning point in Jayson Molumby’s loan spell and he’s likely to get many more starting opportunities before the end of the season as they potentially move to move away from their previous formation.
There will be those, however, who are still on course to leave the West Midlands, even with Bruce’s appointment and the fact they didn’t manage to secure a move away during last month’s transfer window.

Sam Johnstone
This saga has been rumbling on for some time – reinforced by the fact previous boss Ismael was resigned to losing him in pre-season – though he did remain at The Hawthorns much to the delight of many Albion fans.
However, the England international has been the subject of widespread interest from the Premier League with West Ham United still reportedly in the race to land his signature in the summer.
The Hammers launched a £6m bid for his services last summer, the
