2 selection dilemmas Darren Moore has as Sheffield Wednesday prepare for Cheltenham Town clash

Chasing down a League One play-off spot, Sheffield Wednesday are a point from Sunderland in sixth. 

The Owls, who possess a game in hand on the Wearside club, will be hoping to bolster their push for a top-six spot with a victory over Cheltenham Town tomorrow afternoon. 

The Robins are currently sitting in mid-table in what has been an encouraging campaign from the newly-promoted side, however, they are yet to beat a top-half side away from home this season.

Return for Harlee Dean?

Whilst it was a relatively strong defensive showing from the Owls at Gillingham last weekend, having Harlee Dean back available could lead to an alteration at the back. 

However, with two clean sheets in their last three league matches, Moore could be tempted to name the same defensive line as last Saturday. 

Dean, who arrived on loan from Birmingham City in January, has the experience, defensive intelligence and subsequent ability to play a big part in the run-in, however, there is good competition at the back. 

Saido Berahino to start? 

Saido Berahino added an extra dimension to the Owls’ forward play against Gillingham at the weekend when he came on and could be called upon from the very start against Cheltenham. 

Possessing a quick turn of pace and the desire to get in behind, Berahino is someone that stretches the play and can cause havoc in the final third. 

Callum Paterson and Lee Gregory are certainly two excellent striking options at League One level, but Berhaino’s ability to add something extra could lead the 28-year-old to start tomorrow.
