Willie Collum red card against Celtic stance draws acclaim as Premiership penalty sparks Ref Watch hysterics

Steadfast Willie Collum has earned acclaim from Dermot Gallagher after sticking to his guns and not turning Callum Butcher's yellow card into a red against Celtic.

The Motherwell defender faced a sweat after the match official was advised to look at the monitor after Celtic striker Adam Idah was hauled down on the edge of the box.

But Collum was insistent it wasn't a goalscoring opportunity and remained with his initial decision to caution Butcher for the professional foul on the edge of the box.

And it was a call which Gallagher loved as he praised the match official for remaining unbowed while being faced with a judgement call minutes before Celtic scored twice to secure a dramatic 3-1 win at Fir Park.
