John Beaton will be back in action to officiate the first Scottish Cup quarter final tie of the weekend - less than seven days after the VAR controversy in Celtic's 2-0 loss to Hearts last Sunday.

In the immediate aftermath of the game, Hoops' boss Brendan Rodgers blasted on-field Dom Robertson, and Beaton who was in control of the video technology, and insisted that their decision making cost his side the game.

Rodgers was left fuming after midfielder Yang Hyun-jun was shown a straight red card by VAR for a high boot on Jambos full back Alex Cochrane - a call that the champions have now filed an appeal against.

The Irishman was further incensed when the hosts were awarded a penalty for a handball by Tomoki Iwata that allowed Hearts playmaker Jorge Grant to open the scoring.
