Tributes paid to 'bubbly' young woman who 'touched so many lives'

Though Leah Taylor spent years battling her own demons, she never failed to make others smile with her infectious ‘cackle’ of a laugh.

The 20-year-old first started suffering from poor mental health when she was just a child. Sadly, her struggles came to an end on June 17 when she took her own life while staying at a mental health facility. But her parents Paul and Helen say their daughter’s inner battles never dulled her shine – still remembering her as the “bubbly and excitable girl” she always was. “She would walk into a room and laugh and everyone would laugh with her,” her loving dad Paul, 45, said. “She was literally amazing.

She was so talented in making people smile – even more so from when she was in various different units. We’ve had lots and lots of messages from different girls saying she always made them laugh and raised their spirits.” Leah, from Urmston, had spent time in and out of mental health facilities since the age of 14.

Her struggles with mental health issues meant she felt emotions very deeply and would be at “rock bottom” if having a bad day.
