Images of the clothing and jewellery of a woman who died near the M56 motorway have been released by officers desperately trying to establish her identity.

Police were called to the Thorley Lane bridge in south Manchester, which leads to junction 5, to reports of a 'concern for welfare' of a woman at around 2:40am in the early hours of Monday, July 31.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, she sadly died. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say her death is not being treated as suspicious.

However, they have so far been unable to confirm her identity. Join our WhatsAp p Top Stories and Breaking News group by clicking this link. The force has named the bridge where the incident happened as part of an appeal, in which they are asking anyone who may know who she is, to come forward.
