Tottenham star Harry Kane told Manchester United transfer would 'not be enough' for him

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has claimed neither Manchester United nor Newcastle would be a good move for Harry Kane in the summer.

MEN Sport understands Erik ten Hag has made Kane his number one striker target in pre-season. However, the Reds are believed to be wary that chairman Daniel Levy may obstruct a move and thus they have created a shortlist of other players who could fit the bill including; Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani, Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund and Napoli's Victor Osimhen.

Kane's contract at Spurs expires in 2024 but speculation has grown about him leaving North London this season following yet another trophyless campaign for Tottenham.

Ahead of Thursday night's Premier League clash between the two clubs, Jenas has suggested United would not be a glamourous proposition for England's captain. "They’ve got the financial structure for the foreseeable future, a team that has got stability, will play in the Champions League and grow. "We don’t know how much they’re gonna kick on next year but I’m sure they’re going to.
