Tottenham Hotspur might regret not re-signing Christian Eriksen in the summer transfer window, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke. Spurs were linked with the Denmark international, only for him to end up joining Manchester United on a free transfer after his deal at Brentford expired.
According to Football Insider, the north Londoners made their move to sign Eriksen and looked in the driving seat at the beginning of the window.
Not only had Eriksen played for the club previously, but the man that brought him from Tottenham to Inter Milan was Antonio Conte.
Regardless, Spurs ended their interest, which allowed Eriksen to sign for United, penning a three-year contract worth £150,000 per-week at Old Trafford.
