Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga will be in Italy this week to discuss a loan move to AC Milan, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth. The £25,000 per-week star is likely to struggle for regular game-time under Antonio Conte next term and could therefore leave before September’s deadline.

Having expressed their interest back in January, the reigning Serie A champions have now opened talks with Tottenham over a move for the versatile defender.

Sky Sports believe that Spurs would be prepared to let Tanganga to leave on loan having already bolstered their defensive options with the addition of Clement Lenglet.

The academy graduate, who played 19 times last season, has been linked with Premier League clubs Bournemouth and Southampton, but Sheth reckons that Tanganga’s team are set to fly into Milan to discuss further talks over a loan switch to San Siro.
