Threave Rovers look to build on Berwick Rangers cup win by taking care of Greenock

Threave Rovers are looking to continue their fine form of late by taking care of Greenock Juniors on Saturday. The Meadow Park side travel to Clydeside in great shape following a stellar 3-0 win away to Berwick Rangers in the South Challenge Cup last weekend.

The impressive showing saw Danny Dunglinson’s side smack in three quick-fire goals through a headed double by Tam Coles then a strike from Harry Officer.

But now it’s back to business in the GreenVersity West of Scotland Football League – with grabbing all three points top priority.

Dunglinson told the News: “It’s vital we get a win because we have another two cup games coming up. If we beat Greenock that will take us to within two points of Thorn Athletic with a game in hand, so we really need to get a result on Saturday.” After narrowly missing out on promotion last season, Threave are back in the hunt again.
