Steve Clarke is delighted that Kieran Tierney has clinched a loan move to Real Sociedad in a bid to get the game time he needs after being frozen out at Arsenal.
The Scotland defender is a mainstay of the national team but fell completely out of the picture at The Emirates but a season-long loan to the La Liga outfit, who are playing in the Champions League, is being hailed by Clarke, who said: “It’s good for Kieran.
It’s a good move. He’s going to a good league, a good standard and a fantastic life experience, first and foremost, and also a fantastic professional experience to play in La Liga and still has Champions League football with Real Sociedad. “I’ve spoken to Kieran and he’s in a really good place and hopefully he’ll get some minutes before we meet up.
Kieran was frustrated (at Arsenal) but he was also very mature about it and very professional. I thought he handled the situation really well and now he’s got his move it’s down to Kieran to get back down to the business of playing football week in week out.
