Several camping and caravan sites in Cumbria and Lancashire owned by a family-run holiday park group have been awarded five star ratings by VisitEngland inspectors.

Holgates Holiday Parks have operated sites across the North West since 1956. This year all of their parks which were inspected by VisitEngland have earned a five star rating due to their facilities and stunning locations.

Previously Holgates was awarded the AA Best Campsite and Caravan Park Award for 2022/23. Among the sites which have received the rating are Silverdale Holiday Park, the first site established in 1956; Far Arnside and Hollins Farm in Cumbria; Bay View on the Morecambe Bay coastline; and Netherbeck on the outskirts of Carnforth, Lancashire.

The prestigious five star accolade is based on a combination of customer feedback and a successful site inspection.
