Stuart McKinstry is set to sign for Hamilton Accies. The former Scotland under-21 international is expected to put pen to paper before tomorrow’s home clash with Morton.

McKinstry had been training with Accies to keep fit in recent weeks. Manager John Rankin has convinced the winger to stay and get first-team games with Hamilton in the short-term.

Rankin is looking for McKinstry to give his side more creativity as they look to get up the Championship table. The 22-year-old had options to return to England but has turned them down to get back playing north of the border.

McKinstry has been without a club since he turned down a new deal at Queen’s Park at the end of the season. He came through the ranks at rivals Motherwell before he made the move to Leeds United.
