Strictly Come Dancing will return for 2023 and the first celebrities have been confirmed for the latest line-up. The chatter is in full flow about who's going to be jiving and waltzing for the glitterball this year with one of a string of professional dancers.The rumours about which celebs are set to appear in what will be the 21st series have been circling already, and with the professionals returning already named, there's lots to keep an eye on ahead of the potential September return.
On the One Show on Friday, Sherlock, and Mr Selfridge star and award-winning actor Amanda Abbington was announced as the first in this year's Strictly line up.
She told Alex and Roman she was "excited and incredibly nervous" for the challenge ahead of her, joking that she hadn't kept the secret at all and "told everyone" about her big news, including the ladies down her local pharmacy.
Legend Angela Rippon has also become Strictly Come Dancing's oldest ever contestant after being announced for the new series.
