St Cuthbert Wanderers are building for the future. The Kirkcudbright side are currently bottom of the South of Scotland League with just one win to show for their efforts.

But Ian Clark believes they have a talented crop of youngsters who can bring success to the club once they get experience. And they’re set to increasingly be involved in the first team following the demise of the club’s colts team.

Clark said: “As a club, we do have one eye on next year. We need to use this season as a platform where we can give guys the experience of playing at this level.

The only way we can get where we want to be with local boys is giving them the exposure. “On Saturday, six who started were all local and another four were on the bench – three of them got on.
