Andy Robertson finally made his return from injury for Liverpool - and insisted the Anfield reception made the long hard days in rehab worthwhile.
The Scotland skipper was given a standing ovation as he came off the bench in the second half of the Reds’ 5-2 FA Cup victory over Norwich for his first action in more than three-and-a-half months.
Robertson underwent surgery on a shoulder injury sustained in Scotland’s 2-0 Euro qualifying defeat in Spain on October 12. But his return to action will be a huge boost to Steve Clarke and the Tartan Army with preparations for the summer’s Euros in Germany stepping up in March with a friendly double header against the Netherlands and Northern Ireland.
And after playing his part in the demolition of the Canaries he said: “It was amazing, that’s the feeling I have been waiting for.
